About Dr. Gertler A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Gertler is a board-certified internist and gastroenterologist who has used holistic therapies for several years during clinical practice. Included in his training are five years of subspecialty and internal medicine training at Boston institutions, including St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lahey Clinic, and the Boston Veteran's Administration Hospital. Additionally, he obtained training in chelation therapy with the American College for the Advancement of Medicine, and has participated in numerous holistic courses and workshops including IV nutrition courses, herbal medicine, SCENAR training, Quantum Touch training, Reiki training, hypnosis training, Native American healing studies, and Bernie Seigel courses. Having practiced traditional medicine for 30 years, he now envisions a synthesis of the two approaches - traditional and holistic medicine - to achieve a more healthy and balanced result.
